An Introduction to Greenland Rolling & Traditional Paddling Skills

August 31, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Deep Cove Kayak is proud to host International Kayak Instructor James Manke. Join James as
he takes you through the history of the Greenland kayak specifically focusing on rolling and
traditional paddling skills. James takes the time to break down the fundamentals and physics of
rolling a kayak providing you with a greater understanding of how to make your rolls feel
effortless. This full day course is a complete breakdown of the basics of layback rolling making it
perfect for beginners who want to learn their first roll or for the advanced paddler looking to
refine their current layback roll. These skills are all transferable to modern day kayaking and
provide techniques that will keep you safer as a paddler. The morning is focused on land
demonstrations and theory leading into on-water roll training then wrapping up with traditional
paddle skills on the water so you can learn how to effectively use your Greenland paddle.
Limited space is available. Contact Deep Cove Kayak to register today!
James will be providing two Greenland kayaks for the group to share during the clinic. It is
recommended that you bring your own kayak and Greenland paddle if you have one. Greenland
paddles are available for those who do not have one.
COST $125 per student
