For Deep Cove Kayak Centre:
“Deep Cove Kayak has long been a supporter of the work we do at our Norvan Club. They recognize that not all kids have the same opportunities, and are committed to make kayaking an experience that can be enjoyed by everyone. As Boys and Girls Clubs have a policy that no one is turned away due to an inability to pay, we work with children from all socio-economic backgrounds. Deep Cove Kayak has provided the Norvan Club with free lessons so that our Club members have the chance to try this fantastic sport regardless of their means. In addition, Deep Cove Kayak has also donated kayaking packages for auction at our Gala. As our Club programs are not sustained through government funding, Deep Cove Kayak’s contribution helps us raise the money to ensure we can keep our doors open to the hundreds of children and youth who use our services at our Norvan Club.” Boys and Girls Club, North Vancouver, August 2015
“5 star Such a great way to see Deep Cove from a different angle! I like to get the season’s pass for paddle boarding as this is a great option for getting out on the water after your busy day at work. We are so lucky to be living this dream life! In the City, yet worlds apart. It is a daily vacation when you get on your board and paddle to Balcarra or Twin Islands or up Indian Arm. Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak Centre is such a gift to our community!!!!” D McClary – November 2014 via Facebook
“We are experienced paddlers and signed up for an advanced self rescue course. With 4 other paddlers we went through multi scenario situations, including over loaded boats, waves/tides/wakes, loss of vital equipment and assisting others. We enjoyed the course and now feel a bit less humbled at dangers awaiting. Above all that, scenery is wonderful and paddling in Indian Arm is a treat. Close to civilization, yet quickly you can be in solitude.” Visited August 2014 – via Trip Advisor
For Coast Outdoors:
“You guys will always have my business, you’ve been great to me and you guys are so involved in supporting the community that it’s an obvious choice. Keep up all the amazingness!” F Slack, November 2015
“Everyone who knows you – from race events to Women on Water, from your shop to your social media – now knows us too, because of your support of our cause. These connections between your community and ours have exponentially increased our ability to meet our fundraising goals, while introducing us to many wonderful, like-minded people, many of whom have gone on to volunteer to help us in meaningful ways.
Our ability to continue running Jackets for Jasper is in large part because of your generosity: providing us store space for our jackets through the autumn and winter; providing a pick-up location for customers; and your staff’s cheerful willingness to manage transactions and enquiries on our behalf when we can’t be there in person. Sometimes we still pinch ourselves that we are so lucky!
Your beyond-all-expectations “BBQ, Bank and Beer for Nepal” event after the devastating spring earthquakes mean more to us that we can ever say. In such a short time, you pulled together a fun and successful event, involving many other like-minded businesses and people on the North Shore. The fact that our entire “J4J Team” in Nepal, plus all their families and neighbouring villagers, were all safely re-housed before the start of the monsoon season is a testament to how your efforts at rallying community here resulted in safer, healthier communities in Nepal.” Jackets for Jasper, August 2015
“I wanted to let you know that I finally bit the bullet and bought the Epic V6 and a Think Powerwing paddle today! Its a wonderfully fun boat and I’m thrilled to have it. I’m feeling the same enthusiasm for paddling that I felt when I first started 30 years ago.
Thanks so much for all your help as I sorted out what to get. You’ve actually been gently nudging me in the direction of a surf ski for a couple of years now. Being able to try boats out down at Deep Cove through this spring was hugely helpful in making the transition from a traditional sea kayak. The combination of the surf ski ergonomics and a wing paddle feels good on my back and wrists, both of which have been problems. As well, your staff at the store have been hugely helpful over the last couple of months — their enthusiasm and willingness to take time to answer lots of questions made this a great process. See you on the water!” Ken L, June 2015
“5 star I recently purchased two new Sterlings Kayaks through Deep Cove Outdoors and I have to say that the experience in dealing with them through the process has been amazing. Not only were they willing to accommodate my needs to demo and test boats during their offseason, the helpfulness and knowledge they had made the experience very pleasurable. I particularly want to point out that I had made the decision to pick one of the boats up myself from Sterlings manufacturing facility and when I ran into issues coming back across the border they were very helpful in assisting me to sort things out. They even went so far as to buy a bottle of wine as an, unnecessary, but appreciated apology for the troubles I had. I would highly recommend Deep Cove Outdoors to anyone in the Vancouver area for their outdoor and water sports needs.” J Kossen via Facebook, April 2015
“Impeccable service, very knowledgeable and friendly. Could not be happier with my experience at Deep Cove Outdoors.” Google+ Review, November 2011
