







This 2-day course is designed for entry level instructors and trains paddlers to be instructors at the Flatwater Level. Reviewing boat handling skills, knowledge and judgment this course will challenge you and demands attention and commitment.
Successful candidates for this award will be able self-rescue with confidence, paddle in light sea conditions, plan and execute a lesson in sheltered water, demonstrate good judgment and seamanship when dealing with navigation and weather, clearly and confidently communicate with groups of participants in a teaching environment, prepare and organize on land and on water kayak related classes, create lesson plans with objectives and learning outcomes, and demonstrate paddling skills as required of a flatwater instructor.
