Mad Dash and Paddle.
From a land start racers had been assigned 2 separate run routes and a paddle. The start was interesting as group of 100+ people quickly dispersed in 3 separate directions....quickly.
The great thing about multi-sport events is that different people shine at different events and it allows for level playing field.
Run "A" went through the forest south of the kayak centre, Run "B" went north to Panorama Beach and up a very steep slope, and the paddle was to Gray Rocks and back. A group of racers came upon a rowing team trying to move their 8 person scull. The rowers stood there patiently while the paddle sport racer/runners ducked under the scull.
Chaos prevailed.
We still have space in the power paddling clinic May 30. $40 includes kayak rental and the use of a Simon River Sport Wing Blade Paddle.
We have Simon River Sport Wing Blade Paddles for $300. You can also rent these paddles too.
