| This was the 10th annual BC Marine Trail Assn.
Ocean Kayak Marathon. Organized by Ecomarine and held in English Bay. Results
are for the 10 km race. Ecomarine does a great job of organizing this event and
there are shwacks of prizes. The course heads east along the shoreline from Jericho Sailing Centre. There was a stiff head wind and we had to cross paths with several sailing fleets heading out for races. We rounded the 2 navigation buoys near the entrance to False Creek and paddled past 1st Beach/English Bay. The kayak race paralleled an open water swimming race whilst we made our way to Siwash Rock. There we made a hard left and charged back on the final leg to Jericho Sailing Centre. You will notice lots of Deep Cove regulars in the upper standing of the race results. Caroline Depatie 1st place for Women, Marcia & Matt, were 1st doubles, Jerome Truran 1st place for men. Congratulations to all who participated. Results below are for:
