2000 Keen racers showed up despite the torrential downpours. Dave Norona's suprise race was cancelled so be ready for anything next week I wasn't there so I can't tell you about the race, but I can tell you about our great trip to Clayoquot Sound. Under the disguise of professional development for our kayaking school we spent 5 days at this special place. Day 1 saw us checking out all the currents in the tidal rapids near Tofino. Day 3,4 & 5 we hit the outer coast of Vargas Island. Big rolling swells, crashing into rocks created spectacular "Boomers". The Vargas Island Wolves visited our campsite and were undaunted by our attempts to shoo them away. One particularly bold wolf stole Kelsey Mckewens Therma-Rest. If you haven't been there, add it to your "places to visit" list. |
