It was a great night with sunny weather and calm water. The course was out to the 5 km Can and back to Panorama Beach. Followed by a quick lap of the Kayak Centre, up to the Cul-de-sac and back to Panorama Beach. Reverse route to the 5 km Can and back to the Kayak Centre. A strong turn out of 35 paddlers made for a great 1st night of the season. Greg Inkster on his tempermental new steed was bucked of at the start. To be expect when you start paddling the Speedster. Super Dave and Paul Hardy fought hard for first place. In the middle of the field Mark Simpson, Denis Fontaine, and Jeff Teachman had quite the rivalry which I am sure will continue through the season. |
