Dragon Boating is the world's fastest growing water sport. Originating in ancient China, today it combines modern day teamwork, enthusiasm and strategy. Twenty paddlers, a drummer and steersperson work together to race in a 40-foot boat. Whether your team is a corporate, school or community group, our Dragon Boat programs will help develop the vital ingredients for great teamwork. Deep Cove Canoe and Kayak owns two dragon boats (6/16 and BUK) which are available for corporate team-building events, school programs or community teams. There are currently five dragon boat teams paddling out of Deep Cove with practice times available for new teams. The season runs from March to October with many local races that teams can compete in including the Alcan Dragon Boat Festival held each June in Vancouver.
